The Subaru Ascent utilizes a 2.4-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine that outputs 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The Honda Pilot equips a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. While the Pilot holds the horsepower edge, it falls behind in its torque output - the Ascent will have a quicker acceleration.

The Subaru Ascent combines its turbocharged engine with the legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, offering improved traction control and optimal handling for your off-road adventures. The Honda Pilot does offer AWD, but you'll need to pay extra to benefit from it - Subaru's system is included with every model in the lineup.

Looking to maximize your cargo space? You'll do fine with either lineup, but the Subaru Ascent manages just a bit more than its Honda rival. The Ascent seats between seven and eight passengers, with 17.8 standard cubic feet of storage space and expanding to 86.5 cubic feet. The Honda Pilot starts with 16.5 cubic feet of cargo room, growing to only 83.9 cubic feet when you fold the rear seats flat. You'll carry more cargo on your next camping trip in the Subaru Ascent.

What about features? Both lineups offer an impressive array of convenient options, with the Honda Pilot now carrying a standard touchscreen with smartphone integration. The Subaru Ascent also offers a standard touchscreen, courtesy of the STARLINK® infotainment system, but also provides drivers with peace of mind through LED Steering Responsive Headlights and available Reverse Automatic Braking - you can't find either of these features in the Honda lineup.
